The story of this book takes place in some Latin America country. The author never mentions a name, but the Country is Chile. The story is about the life of the Trueba family, spanning four generations, and covers more than fifty years of history. The author does not specific years, but the story happen in on the late post-colonial (after the independence of Chile from Spain) social and political upheavals of this country. The book show how this Latina American country changes during these 50 years. “The House of the Spirits “ is also the story of political corruption, patriarchal authority, feminine oppression, and the movement from the old world into the new…………..uffffffff is too much to explain in the blog!! I will be happy to explain it on person!!! …….I am a terrible writer!! Pam

This story takes place in Washington DC and a main event happen the US capitol building, which we often see in News. This story is based on facts, so through reading the book, you can know many things. For example the US capitol is located at 4210 Silver Hill Road, and tha museum which is included the us captol is a mssive zigzag-shaped edifice constracted of five interconected pods- each pod larger than a football field, and so on. There are manhy other infomation which is based on facts. It gives the book authority.
Though I want to read the book, I can@t because of much homework(it`s jork). Nver mind that, I have to sleep soon.
Emma / Jane austen

Main character, Emma, lived sixteen miles from London in the village of Highbury.
However, she moved to Hartfield with his father, Miss taylor, and her daughters because Miss taylor who lived together got married to Mr Weston.
Auther mentioned her comfortable life will change after this moving.
She met a new friend, harriat,and they immediately became friendly.
One day, harriat is given a letter about to marry and she asked to Emma, "how shall I reply?". Emma gave advise to her and then wrote a reply for her. It will cause a problem.
I'm lookimg forward to read continued story.

ReplyDeleteMy reading book which is "All I Want" happened in Brighton England. Brighton is in near the ocean, and you can see the beautiful marina in there if you went to!! This story started to happen from main character's birthday. It was her thirty-year-old birthday, she slept over to go to her job. It's really bad situation for her because that day is her birthday, she will be late to go to her job, and they man who she likes is in her worl place!! She was dipressed from the morning...I know her mind because if I were her, I will be like what the "awesome" my birthday!haha Anyways, I really like the beginning of this story which is the place and situation because I could be like what's gonna happen?!
I already read this book about 2 weeks ago, so I kind of forgot the detailes of this book...haha

This story takes place in America. The story is set in the town of "St Petersburg"in Missori.maybe it is not real city. but this suther,Mark Twain grew up there.
This book was written in 1876. I think the story was about before 1876.maybe since1830 to 1840??
The story started about mischief's Tom. When I was reading this book, I always imaged about him. I thought he is a mischievous boy!

Hi, Im reading "The Sea Wolf" by Jack London.
ReplyDeleteIm not sure when this story happened. The story took place mainly in a seal-hunting ship that saved Humphrey. He was saved in Calfornia, and then he wanted to go home. But the ship went toward Japan to the seal hunt. The captain of this ship" Wolf Larsen" is kind of funny person for me. While he is cruel person, he is also very intelligent. So sometimes he made fun of Humphrey talking about what is immortal soul or that kinds of difficult themes. Im still reading this book because its almost 300 pages! so hard for me. But one more character appeared, its women, it will be more interesting!!!

It takes place in Mica, Arizona. The narrator of this story is called Leo, and he and his friend, Kevin, met a girl called "Stargirl" at their school one day. Stargirl was transfer students and she has different character to other students. She wore an off-white long dress, and she always has ukulele. One day, she became famous, because she gave many people joy and small heartiness. For this happen, everyone was happy to stay with Stargirl and they were proud of her that she was be there. But when basketball game started, everything changed...
This is kind of love story between the narrator of this book, Leo, and Stargirl!! It is interesting book for me so far.
