I chose “Emma”. Author is Jane Austen. First published year is 1816. This story is about one woman. Her name is Emma Woodhouse and she likes to arrange marriages between her friends and neighbors in the village of Highbury. However, she makes a lot of mistakes and causes more problems than happy marriage. Moreover she almost loses her own chance of love.
ReplyDeleteNow, I don’t read. I just read summary on the back of book. I chose this book is because I recently read some books of serious mystery. For that reason, I chose different genre of book.
Hello. I`ve personally read `The Lost Symbol`. The aouhor is Dan Brown. This story is that Robert Langdon, who is a professor of science of religion at Harvard University solve mysteries with his knowledge of religion. The key of this story is Freemason and Washington. Sounds cool? Though this book is very thick, it`s not hard to read because it`s divided into many chapters.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I chose the book is that his last novel `The Davinci Code` was really great. The feature of his novel is to be included real histories of religion which are based on facts.People who are interested in religion or symbol must like his novel.

ReplyDeleteI chose the novel,The house of the spirits of Isabel Allende, my favorite Chilean writer. Isabel Allende is one of the best-known women writers in Latin America. Even though she was born in Peru and she has lived in more than 6 countries, she considers herself Chilean. Her parents and roots are all from Chile. She is the niece of President Salvador Allende. This is the reason why she left Chile in 1973 after the military coup against President Allende. She has lived in the USA since 1988.Isabel Allende‘s books are just amazing. She is very descriptive and meticulous. In the majority of her novels she writes about women experiences; moreover, she mixes the reality with myth. Her first publish is The House of The Spirits.1982.
I Chose this book because I read it a longggggggg time ago when I was a Teenager....several years ago hihihihi. back then I hated to read, but after reading that book I changed my perspectived about reading.Anyways, I can't rememeber details, because it is a long book, that tells the story about a family,but four generations, so it is a little confusing, because there are so many characters.
so far I have read 50 pages, and I can not wait to finish it!!...the storys of the characteres are just crazy!!......I love it!

ReplyDeleteI chose "The Adventure of Tom Sawyer". It was written by Mark Twain. It was first published in 1949. This story is about "Tom". He is a boy with a great need for adventure. It is exciting story.
I chose this book, because it is very famous story. I studied English literature in Japan. I heard about this book many times, but I have never read it, so I decided to read it!

ReplyDeleteI chose "Sea Wolf" The author of this novel is Jack London. Actually, I had no idea about which book I should read. Therefore I chose this book of the list that Josh recommended. The story is about the boy "Humphrey". When he was riding on the ship, the ship sank off in the accident, and it drifted in the sea. And then,"Wolf", the captain of the ship"ghost" passed by, Humphrey was saved by him.However "Wolf" is like a devil, he treated Himphrey as a slave.... I haven't known whether he can go home or not. There are a lot of words related ship and sea, so it's hard to understand. But it is interesting book so far!!
I chose a book called "Stargirl". The name of the author is Jerry Spinelli. I found this book at bookstore in UC and when I saw this book, I feel drawn to this book I don't know why. This book is about the girl called "Stargirl" who has a humor characteristic. Someday in the high school, she became popular because she does very interesting things like singing in lunchroom at school or dancing in the rain. One day, she asked by some cheerleader to join them, she was set at naught from her friends when she cheered other team for basketball game.... I haven't read this book that much, but this is very interesting book and I want to read more and more!! This is my first time to read actual novelin English so it will be challenging for me!

ReplyDeleteMy first book named "All I Want", and I already read this book. The auther is Margaret Johnson, and first pablish was 2000/06/01 from Cambridge University Press. The story was about love which a woman who has a boyfriend fall in love with a man who is her boss in the gallary shop which she works. The man has a girlfriend who is way cuter than a woman. She tryed to get that man, but oneday, when the man kissed her in the party, she realized that she didn't feel anything like happy or awesome...Then she realized her boyfriend is the best person for her. when I was reading this introduction, I couldn't understand why does she fall in love with the man who has a girlfriend..but end of the story, she figured out her boyfriend is the best for her, and i was really happy! I recommended this book to my classmates because this book was easy to read and understand!!
