I read “A Love for Life” which it was my third personal reading book. The author is Penny Hancock. The first published was in 2000. The girl, named Fanella, was dumped by her ex boyfriend one day. After that, she challenges to grow an adopted child up by herself which means she became a single mother. There are two reasons which I recommend this book to everyone.
The first reason is you can feel and know it’s really difficult to bring up a child by single mother. The main character, Fanella, start to bring up her child by herself, but it was very difficult choice. I have a friend who is single mother. She told me that it’s difficult to raise her child by herself. She has to earn the money more than usual family, take care by herself, mental side, and a lot of things. However, because she is a mother of her child, that is why she can do whatever for her child that was what she told me. You can know and feel how difficult to raise child by single mother Fanella through this story.
Second, you can know how important that the people who are around single mother’s help. I like Rod who is Ellie and Timothy’s teacher. He is already got married with Leah. He is also has a something problem with his wife also. But he helped Fanella a lot. Not only Rod but also her friends helped her a lot. I felt the help is really important for single mother through this story.
I chose this book because of this title and main picture at the first time. But when I finished to read this book, I figured out it was really great book to think about family again, and how hard to grow a child by single mother is. I really recommend reading this book for everyone. This book is not very difficult to read, so I think everybody can read this book.
My second personal book is “Dolphin Music”. This book’s is published in 1999. Author is Antoinette Moses. I couldn’t find about his personal history, but his many literary works are used by Cambridge English Readers. This book takes place in 2051. People are controlled by, CONTROL, the government of Europe and they are living in a high technology society. This is base information of the story’s time. I recommend this book because it gave me good opportunity to think about influence of high technology society and coexist between human and animals. Also, when I started to read this book I couldn’t stop reading because this book has some thrilling scenes.
The first reason is that this book gave me to think about influence of high technology. In this book, not only the government but also ordinary people use a high technology device such as computer which can talk to people. People enjoyed the virtual world. Saul who is writer and music critic, main character, enjoyed the virtual world too. At end of the story, Saul noticed the real world has more wonderful things such as forest and warmth of people. I thought the high technology has negative and positive aspects. The high technology gives us convenient, but it also gives us lack of communication with people directly.
The second reason is that it gave to think about coexist between human and animals. This book’s main story is to save the dolphin from the government. The government use many dolphins to make beautiful music which is made when dolphin are suffering. Therefore, Saul and Sue who is a member of PACE which is against control in Europe fought with Captain Marrs who is the head of BEATCON which is the anti-terrorist group help the dolphin from the government. The government use dolphin for money. In the future, Will people kill animals for not only eating but also having fun? It is terrible thing for animals.
The third reason is that I couldn’t stop reading! When I chose this book, I thought it is story about just a dolphin, but it is not just story about the dolphin. It is story about dolphin and people who try to help them from the government. Also, the interesting point is a part of Saul noticed about the real world has more exciting than the virtual world.
This book gave me to think about future of the world. I’ve rarely thought about future of the world. High technology gives us convenient life, but it also gave us negative influence such as lack of real relationship among people. Also, after I read this book I could think about influence of technology and coexist between human and animals in a future. I think it is good prompt to think about the future of society in the world. Therefore, I recommend this book for my fellow classmates.
I read “Sea Wolf” by Jack London. The author"Jack London" was born in San Francisco in 1876. He spent trackless adolescence and he devoted himself to socialism.This novel “Sea Wolf” was immediately sold out after fort thousand copies were printed out. I know the reason why this book was so popular because it is interesting!!!! I’ll introduce the main story of this book briefly. There are two main characters, “Humphrey” and “Larsen”,and the story took place mainly in a seal-hunting ship that saved Humphrey. The story starts with the happening that the ferry Humphrey rode was adrift in the sea. Then, the ship “Ghost” saved Humphrey. The captain of the ship is Wolf Larsen. Humphrey was saved in California. Although he wanted to go home, the ship is going to go toward Japan to the seal hunt. Therefore, Humphrey was treated as a cabin boy in the ship. I recommend this book for three reasons; many new vocabularies that appears in this book, the story of this book and the interesting personalities of characters.
First, I learned many vocabularies that I did not know before. The main story of this book took place in the sea, so there are a lot of technical terms about sea. When I was reading “River Runs Through It”, I read without using dictionary. Therefore using dictionary every time I face the unknown vocabulary is kind of troublesome, but I could know many new vocabularies. In addition, the author sometimes uses old English in this book. Although it is hard to read and understand, it was interesting for me.
Second, I recommend this book because I really liked the story. As I introduced before, the main story took place in the ship that saved Humphrey. More than half of the story is in the ship. The captain of the ship “ Larsen” is cruel person, and then Humphrey tried to escape, but he couldn’t….To my surprise, this book includes love story! I didn’t expect the love story because the story has been about the ship. One day the ship saved the women “ Maud”. Last time I wrote book report, I hadn’t known whether Humphrey likes her or not. Although I won’t tell the ending of the story, the only thing I can say is it is happy end!
Third, the biggest reason that I recommend this book is the characters have interesting personalities. First, Humphrey grew up much in this book. In the beginning he was so delicate, but he became strong as the story progresses, especially after Maud appears. One more important character is Larsen. He is a captain of the ship. He is described as approximately five feet, broad shoulders and a deep chest. His tremendous strength is described throughout the story. The strongest impression to Larsen is that he is very cruel person, but he is also very intelligent. He murders and abuses people without hesitation. While he has cruel person, he is really intelligent. And then, he asked Humphrey question that Humphrey would not know such as mathematics, literature, science and philosophy etc. Larsen enjoyed Humphrey’s reply; he treated Humphrey like a toy. I like this part, conversation because it is funny. I really liked the relationship between Humphrey and Larsen.
Honestly, this book was hard to read for me because I hardly read the book in both Japanese and English.But I enjoyed reading this book! Although it is hard to read, especially people who hardly read the book like me, it is worth reading. You can learn many vocabularies that you would not know and this book has unpredictable and interesting story and the interesting personalities of characters.

The first published in 1749. The story is about Tom. He is an activist, and he will go to London. This story was kind of difficult for me, but I think this book is fun. I will recommend this book. There are three reasons. The reasons are that the main character Tom is funny person, The story is about old British, and the end of the story is so good.
First, the main character Tom is good person. He is an abandoned child. He is grown up freedom boy. I think he is really cool. He will go to trip alone. He got many accidents, but he has never given up. I like his character.
Next, it is about old British story, so it is good. I had never read old British story before I read it, so it was kind of fresh for me. For example, there are horses in the story. This book is British literature. British literature is different from English literature. I become to like English literature too.
Third, the end of the story is cool. The main character Tom got married with another character Sophia. This scene was great. Tom cried “Marriage!” Tom could not meet her easily, so he could get married with her finally. The book made me happy.
I will recommend “The History of Tom Jones, A founding” because the main character Tom is cool, this book is about old British story and the end of the story is so great. The House of the Spirits is an incredible novel that tells the epic of the Trueba family; their loves, their ambitions, their spiritual quests, their relations with one another. It’s a four generation family story that began in the earliest 1900. The House of the Spirits is book that everybody should read. I recommend this book because it’s easy to read and it tells and describes the life, culture and politics in Latin America in the past century. Hello! I`m Nori. How was your weekend? My personal book is `The Los t Symbol`. This novel is written by Dan Brown who is known to write `The Davinci Code` and `Angel and Demon`. This book was published in 2009. Now this book is being heavy hitting all over the world. Briefly speaking, the story is an adventure of looking for a mason`s secret. Various people are intricately-intertwined with each other and various factors, which are religions, symbols and secrets, are intricately-intertwined with each other. I really recommend you the book because I think this book is really good for study English and just fan. I`ll explain why this book, ` The Lost symbol`, is so good. There are mainly two reasons. The first reason is the book is very readable. Normally when you see very thick book, you hesitate to read the book because you think it`s impossible for you to read entire book. However although this book has over 500 pages, you can easily read this book because it is divided into many short chapters. Off course there are many difficult words in the story, but it`s good for you. You can continue reading while enjoying the reading. Reading such a thick book gives you confidence, and the confidence gives you motivation to study. Second reason is this book includes many historical factors which are based on facts, for example about free mason, Washington DC and so on. There are also many symbols in the story and the book explains about those symbols. Those factors must make you thrilled. They also give the story authorities and make it more thrilling, so this book is purely interesting. It is also the factor which you can easily continue reading the book. After you finish reading the book, you will get much knowledge about religious history or symbol Considering those reasons, we can say this book include not only very interesting factors which are sometimes difficult, but also is readable. The reason I read the book is that I read `The Davince Code` which is written by Dan Brown. It was Japanese version. I was impressed the book because it was first novel which made me so thrilled and excited. It`s difficult to find good books, but I recommend you the book with confidence. My personal book is Stargirl, which was published on August 8, 2000. The name of author is Jerry Spinell. He wrote many novels for young readers. For example, Smiles to Go and I Can Be Anything. He got A New York Best Seller, A Publisher Weekly Best Book of the Year. Main Character of this book is the girl whose name is “Stargirl”. Narrator of this book is the boy whose name is “Leo”. Stargirl is a unique girl, and she was a transfer to Mica high school in Arizona. At that time, Leo was also a student of Mica high school. This book is about relationship between Stargirl and Leo, and it is kind of love story. I recommend this book for everyone in level 5 because this is very interesting book that I’ve ever read. There are two reasons that I recommend this book.
First, there are some parts that we can see each person’s different personalities are special and important. In this book, Stargirl is a very unique girl in the school. She always wears a long dress, and she brings her ukulele and her pet, mouse, to the school. One day, she was singing the song, Happy Birthday, to her friends at lunch time with her ukulele. But she celebrates for many people in the school even if they are not her friends. For this reason, she became popular and many people are interested in her. She has very different characteristic compared with other students in the school, but she has sweet and nice personalities. There are many people in this world and everyone is different, but we sometimes think the person who has different characteristic is not normal. After I read this book, I really think that our different personalities are special. Therefore, this book is important and interesting to read about different character’s personalities.
Second, there is another part we can see that it is important to think about not only oneself but also about someone else from this book. In my favorite part of this book, Stargirl joined a cheerleader and she cheers for basketball game. Generally, when games were occurring, most of people cheer just one team that they belong to. But Stargirl was cheering her school team and also the other team. When I read this part, I thought she is nice girl and I felt happiness. She always thinks about someone else more importantly better than herself. It is very hard to do even if we understand that it leads to have a good relationship with others, and it will make everyone happy. For this reason, we can rethink how important to think about someone else like ourselves through reading this book.
Stargirl is interesting book that I’ve ever read. I wasn’t big reader, but I could enjoy reading this book because Stargirl and Leo’s relationship was so cute and I felt happiness and excitement through this book. This book made me think about many important things; relationships between friends or family. I really like reading this book and I recommend this book. I hope someone will be interested in reading this book!
The book name is "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". By Mark Twain, Published in 1884. I read so far 150 pages the book 388 pages. The book talks about Huck the main character of the story. And if you want to read this book you should read "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". First.
He describes the treasure found by the boys and how it was invested for them. Huck spends some time complaining about being cared for by the Widow Douglas and her sister.
Huck finds Pap’s distinctive boot prints in the snow and realizes his corrupt father has returned. Huck "sells" his treasure to Judge Thatcher so that Pap can’t get it. Huck fakes his own death to run a way and hides out on Jackson’s Island. To judge Thatcher and Widow want to get custody of Huck.
The book is humorous and adventure. The writer describes how two share friendship and adventure as they travel.

The del Valle and Trueba families represent the land-owning upper-class criollos (a criollo is a person who is born and raised in South America but is a direct descendant of Spaniards), while the Garcia family represent the peasants. The house of the spirits is a great representation of the life in Latin America in the past century.
The House of the Spirits is book that everybody should read. I recommend this book because it’s easy to read and it tells and describes the life and culture in Latin America in the past century. This book is not only a great opportunity to learn about Latin America, but also it’s a magnificent story about family relations.

ReplyDeleteMy personal book is `The Los t Symbol`. This novel is written by Dan Brown who is known to write `The Davinci Code` and `Angel and Demon`. This book was published in 2009. Now this book is being heavy hitting all over the world. Briefly speaking, the story is an adventure of looking for a mason`s secret. Various people are intricately-intertwined with each other and various factors, which are religions, symbols and secrets, are intricately-intertwined with each other. I really recommend you the book because I think this book is really good for study English and just fan. I`ll explain why this book, ` The Lost symbol`, is so good. There are mainly two reasons.
The first reason is the book is very readable. Normally when you see very thick book, you hesitate to read the book because you think it`s impossible for you to read entire book. However although this book has over 500 pages, you can easily read this book because it is divided into many short chapters. Off course there are many difficult words in the story, but it`s good for you. You can continue reading while enjoying the reading. Reading such a thick book gives you confidence, and the confidence gives you motivation to study.
Second reason is this book includes many historical factors which are based on facts, for example about free mason, Washington DC and so on. There are also many symbols in the story and the book explains about those symbols. Those factors must make you thrilled. They also give the story authorities and make it more thrilling, so this book is purely interesting. It is also the factor which you can easily continue reading the book. After you finish reading the book, you will get much knowledge about religious history or symbol
Considering those reasons, we can say this book include not only very interesting factors which are sometimes difficult, but also is readable. The reason I read the book is that I read `The Davince Code` which is written by Dan Brown. It was Japanese version. I was impressed the book because it was first novel which made me so thrilled and excited. It`s difficult to find good books, but I recommend you the book with confidence. I`m sure that you realize how good the book is.
My personal book is Stargirl, which was published on August 8, 2000. The name of author is Jerry Spinell. He wrote many novels for young readers. For example, Smiles to Go and I Can Be Anything. He got A New York Best Seller, A Publisher Weekly Best Book of the Year. Main Character of this book is the girl whose name is “Stargirl”. Narrator of this book is the boy whose name is “Leo”. Stargirl is a unique girl, and she was a transfer to Mica high school in Arizona. At that time, Leo was also a student of Mica high school. This book is about relationship between Stargirl and Leo, and it is kind of love story. I recommend this book for everyone in level 5 because this is very interesting book that I’ve ever read. There are two reasons that I recommend this book.
ReplyDeleteFirst, there are some parts that we can see each person’s different personalities are special and important. In this book, Stargirl is a very unique girl in the school. She always wears a long dress, and she brings her ukulele and her pet, mouse, to the school. One day, she was singing the song, Happy Birthday, to her friends at lunch time with her ukulele. But she celebrates for many people in the school even if they are not her friends. For this reason, she became popular and many people are interested in her. She has very different characteristic compared with other students in the school, but she has sweet and nice personalities. There are many people in this world and everyone is different, but we sometimes think the person who has different characteristic is not normal. After I read this book, I really think that our different personalities are special. Therefore, this book is important and interesting to read about different character’s personalities.
Second, there is another part we can see that it is important to think about not only oneself but also about someone else from this book. In my favorite part of this book, Stargirl joined a cheerleader and she cheers for basketball game. Generally, when games were occurring, most of people cheer just one team that they belong to. But Stargirl was cheering her school team and also the other team. When I read this part, I thought she is nice girl and I felt happiness. She always thinks about someone else more importantly better than herself. It is very hard to do even if we understand that it leads to have a good relationship with others, and it will make everyone happy. For this reason, we can rethink how important to think about someone else like ourselves through reading this book.
Stargirl is interesting book that I’ve ever read. I wasn’t big reader, but I could enjoy reading this book because Stargirl and Leo’s relationship was so cute and I felt happiness and excitement through this book. This book made me think about many important things; relationships between friends or family. I really like reading this book and I recommend this book. I hope someone will be interested in reading this book!

The book name is "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". By Mark Twain, Published in 1884. I read so far 150 pages the book 388 pages. The book talks about Huck the main character of the story. And if you want to read this book you should read "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". First.

Huck finds Pap’s distinctive boot prints in the snow and realizes his corrupt father has returned. Huck "sells" his treasure to Judge Thatcher so that Pap can’t get it. Huck fakes his own death to run a way and hides out on Jackson’s Island. To judge Thatcher and Widow want to get custody of Huck.
The book is humorous and adventure. The writer describes how two share friendship and adventure as they travel.
