Week 7 Question

If you've responded to the last question, thanks. I know it wasn't an easy question, but one reason why we read is to think; and the more we think while we read, the better off we are in the end (or so I think). Thus, let's think some more!

First, if you finished your first book and chose another, tell us what your new book is (this question doesn't apply to most of you).

For this week's blog, I'd like you to think about a question. More specifically, I'd like you to think of a question you'd like to ask a character in your story. If you could ask a character in your story any question, what would that question be? Explain why you chose this question.
If you can't think of a question for a character, think of a question you'd ask the author of the book.

Thanks for you responses.

Josh

Week 5 Question

Hi!

I hope you're all enjoying your personal reading book. This week, I'd like you to discuss a topic that may be a little more challenging than previous questions.

Here goes:

Is there a character in your story that you can relate to personally? If so, in what ways do you relate to this person? If not, do any of the characters in the story remind you of people in your own life? How is this character similar to someone you know?

Let me know if you need any help.

Good luck!

Week 4 Question

Hi!

Thanks (to those of you who have responded) for your informative responses to last week's question.

This week, I'd like you to discuss the setting of your personal reading book. That is, where does your story take place? When does the story happen? Try to provide some sort of evidence to support your answer.

Happy reading!

Week 3 Question

Hi,

I hope you all are ready to read!

For this week's question, I'd like you to discuss your first personal reading book.
First, which book did you choose? Who is the author of this book? When was it FIRST published? What can you tell us about the book based on the cover, the summary on the back of the book, and/or what you've read so far? Finally, why did you choose this book?

Happy reading!

Test Question

Hi! Welcome to the Reading and Vocabulary Summer 2010 blog. This summer, we will discuss our personal reading books on this forum. You will have the chance to write about the books you're reading in addition to reading your classmates thoughts and opinions on the books they are reading.

In order to verify that you have made it this far, please answer the following question: What's the best book you've ever read? Why do you think this is such a great book?

Note that the book you write about doesn't have to be an English language book. Also, if you can't think of ONE great book, just discuss one of your favorite books.
